TelalAska Leverages Aktino’s MIMO on DMT Equipment to Deliver Fiber-like Reliability
Proving that copper can do the work of fiber when it comes to reliability, Alaskan service provider TelAlaska has been able to satisfy a customer’s appetite for bandwidth at a far lower cost, benefiting its own bottom line as well as the customer’s. TelAlaska is using Aktino broadband over copper equipment in the innovative solution.
In 2006, the customer came to TelAlaska and requested a fiber connection to link two sites. The company owns a fish processing operation as well as a hotel. The customer indicated they wanted a gigabit of bandwidth between the sites to perform daily data backups of the hotel’s computers via the fiber link.
