Utility Telephone Delivers up to 100 Mbps Using Positronís Aktino Copper Bonding Solution
IRVINE, CALIFORNIA, June 15, 2010 – Positron Access Solutions, a leader in copper bonding symmetric/asymmetric solutions, announced today that Utility Telephone, a telephone and internet service provider to businesses and organizations, is taking their “Customer First” approach to the next level by utilizing the Positron Access line of products.
The proliferation of cloud computing, large data warehouses and ever growing mobile workforce has created an insatiable demand from businesses for highly reliable access bandwidth. In order to stay competitive and continue to grow, telecom service providers have realized that they must upgrade their networks to meet the demand of their customers with limited CAPEX budgets. By using Positron’s entire suite of Aktino products, Utility Telephone is able to economically provide up to 100 Mbps symmetric and asymmetric services on their leased copper infrastructure to customers all over California and Nevada.
“Our customers are demanding more and more bandwidth. Unfortunately, the technology we are currently using is bandwidth thin beyond 6,000 feet. We do not have ready access to fiber, but thanks to Positron’s Aktino copper-based solutions we are able to strategically augment our network to meet our customers’ demands,” said Jason Mills, founder and CEO of Utility Telephone. “No other copper-bonding solution even came close to Aktino’s rate and reach performance. The unique ability to deliver cost-effective, high-bandwidth services quickly to large segments of our customer base on copper represents a tremendous opportunity.”
Increased demand for high bandwidth coupled with intense competition and price pressure in the marketplace has created a great sense of urgency to quickly and cost effectively deploy solutions to meet the needs of customers. Using Positron’s Aktino products, Utility provides up to 100 Mbps symmetric service to connect a data center for a webhosting organization on 3,000-foot loops. In another application, Utility is providing up to 35 Mbps symmetric service to interconnect data warehouses to remote locations for data rich institutions such as hospitals and banks at 10,000 feet.
“Utility Telephone is a pioneer in being able to deliver profitable, high bandwidth business services in a leased-copper infrastructure environment without compromising their customer footprint,” said Hossam Salib, VP of Marketing at Positron Access.” We are enthusiastic about providing Utility with a flexible tool which enables them to meet the needs of their customers and grow their business.”
